Our Story
Traci, the owner of Glory Be, is a former U.S. Marine, as well as the spouse of a Marine. She is a native Marylander and mom of two boys, and she loves hunting for unique vintage items. Traci purchased the store from the original proprietor, Marla, upon Marla's retirement in May 2019.

Marla has been a folk artist and creator of beautiful wreaths and home décor for decades. Having begun her merchant adventures as a craft show vendor, traveling with her military husband and three children, Marla settled into a permanent store location as they transitioned out of their military life. Our charming town and ideal location on Mill Street, complete with a great front porch and bay windows came available early in 2004 and, as Marla has said, "It had my name written all over it and I had to have it!"
Health complications simultaneously caused great upheaval in Marla's life, and she found herself blessed by a phenomenal group of friends & family and uplifted in prayer by people she didn't even know. They graciously provided meals and support for Marla and her family, helping immensely during this tumultuous time, and this is what led her to name the store "Glory Be". Lucky for us, Marla still loves creating her signature folk art, which is available in the store!

From the beginning, Marla established Glory Be as the cozy, friendly, hopeful and happy place that it has been for over 19 years. We strive to continue the spirit of the store just as she created it, and hope you'll come visit us soon! GLORY BE!
